Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey

Hello everyone.
Here is my review of Harley Quinn and the Birds of Prey.
Well they changed the name after I saw the movie. I understand why.
It was a long convoluted name for no reason.
I was really not looking forward to this movie, the trailers did it no justice. Everyone was saying it was a sjw movie. I don’t care weather it’s a sjw movie or not. I can say it’s an OK movie. Not great and not the worst DC movie. There were some parts that I would do different. The actresses and actors did fine, but some had nothing to do. One thing I would have done is have them in costume. It’s like some ladies just running around trying to stay alive. Not villains and heroes.

Margo Robbie does a good job as Harley Quinn but she’s losing some of the essence of Harley. She doesn’t need the Joker or Mr. J, but she needs to be her old crazy self. It was nice to see them bring out back story stuff from Harley. How she was a psychologist that tried and failed to treat Joker and just fell in love with him. Renee Montoya is another old favorite in the comics. And Rosie Perez did a good job but she didn’t have much to do. But what she did was good. I am a fan of Renee Montoya in the comics. Next is the Huntress and Mary Elizabeth Winstead. That was rough she is barley in the movie until the last 5-10 minutes. They had the backstory but It didn’t work for me. Her acting was ok, Black Canary with Jurnee Smollett-Bell was a bit of a miss. They didn’t do her character well. The acting was fine but the writing for her wasn’t as good. And lastly Ella Jay Basco as Cassandra Cain. This one was the worst. The only thing they really took from the comics was she was quiet. She didn’t fight really at all and she might be the best actual fighter of the bunch.

The last thing I want to say is, this really didn’t need the R rating. It could have been PG13 with very few cuts. I really think it was a copy cat move. Dead pool is rated R and crazy and zany just like Harley.
The movie was OK, I would give it a 6 out of ten. Just kind of Meh.
It could have been so much more. The story needed help. They should have just taken comic book runs or a comic story and go with it.
What I really wanted from Birds of Prey is Harley, Poison Ivy and Cat women, But it was OK not great. Maybe next time.

Life is changing

Photo by Josh Applegate on Unsplash

Hello all.
Life is changing again but this time it’s good and exciting.
My term as Minister of the fraternity I am in is almost up.
Our election is in April. And I can’t wait for it.
It’s not like it’s a ton of work, but it’s work I am not good at.
Running the council is easy because of the people on it.
But the fraternity meetings are more difficult because I have to be the leader and be up front and speaking to people.
And as I have stated I am an introvert and really shy.
So being the person that leads the council and fraternity meetings are not in my wheelhouse. But I can say I have grown from it.
I once didn’t talk much during the meetings because of my shyness and such. Now I lead them and am thinking of ways to make all the meetings better. It has had me meet so many people I wouldn’t know and I call friends. Franciscans are some of the best people around.
Even though I am hesitant and don’t do well with crowds they are patient and help to bring me out of my shell. Even when I screw up and make mistakes they come at it from a place of love. And for that I can never thank them enough. I am a better person for it.

So in April after the election I will have one less meeting to go to a month. And I won’t have to worry about the meetings. I am now just be a member of the fraternity like normal. And I will focus on my SA class totally. It’s a good time to a Franciscan in my fraternity.
I can’t wait to see what all the new people do and the changes they make. Just know that God loves you and God is love.

Happy Valentines day

Photo by Laura Ockel on Unsplash

Hello Friends.
It’s that time of year again. Valentines day.
Where people try and show how much they love each other.
But try not to spend to much in one day.
Valentines day is not just a romantic holiday but a christian one also.
Here is a bit from Wikipedia. Saint Valentine of Rome was martyred on February 14 in AD 269.The Feast of Saint Valentine, also known as Saint Valentine’s Day, was established by Pope Gelasius I in AD 496 to be celebrated on February 14 in honour of the Christian martyr.

So there is a reason for all this, It’s just not a reason to sell cards and candies and such. Well have a great Valentines day and I hope everything goes well.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare Season Two

Hello Everyone.
It’s time for season two of Modern Warfare. New maps, new guns and new battle pass.It just started Yesterday Tuesday February 11th. This is a big update in more than one way. First it is a 68 gig download and next all that comes with it.

Right off the bat we get two new multiplayer maps, Rust and Atlas Superstore. Rust is an old favorite. We get another old favorite with Zhokov boneyard a ground war map. We also get a new gunfight map in Bazaar, I can’t wait to play. Gunfight is my new favorite mode, I also like the love they are showing it with new maps and modes within gunfight. They are giving us two new modes with Gunfight tournament and CDL playlist..We also get a new battle pass and with that comes more goodies for it. You can unlock two new guns the Grau 5.56 and the Striker 45. They are free unlocks in the free battle pass. I bought the premium battlepass at $20.00 dollars and that gets me the battle pass and the first 20 tiers unlocked immediately.
I plan on really digging into this soon.

The 68 gig download is to clean up a lot of the game files and such.
They say at the end the footprint of Modern Warfare will be smaller, but we will find out. Also right in the middle of the screen is a big restricted mode. I believe with everyone else this will be replaced with battle royal. I don’t see the need of it. If you want battle royal play cod black ops 4.But more is better I guess. My dream is that this year there would be no call of duty and just do another year of seasons and such.

Hello Everyone.
I have some news for you.
First I will be doing full reviews of games, tv, movies and more.
I am playing a couple games now. I am playing Call of Duty modern warfare and also Elder Scrolls Online among others. I am not done with the single player game yet, because online stuff is so fun. I am playing a lot of ESO. I’m changing my main character to a healer from a daedric sorcerer who summons and does elemental damage.
I am also plan on Ori and the will of the wisps soon.

I wanted to let you know what I will be reviewing video games.
Here are the main categories. Video which will cover graphics and animation. Audio that covers music and speech and sound effects.
Game play will cover controls and and how fun it is and next is Story, Online and lastly Micro transactions which covers that and also dlc and passes. I will rate games on a 1-10 scoring system. 1 is unplayable, 5 meh and 10 game changer. As I said I will review TV, Movies and streaming. That will be a great, meh or bad.
I am hoping to do more Catholic and Franciscan content soon.
But I am thinking what to do about it. It may not happen till this summer when I am done being minister of my Franciscan fraternity.

Jesus Loves You

Photo by Neal E. Johnson on Unsplash

Hello Everyone.
It’s finally Friday! I’m so happy for the weekend to come. And where I am it looks like snow on Sunday. I have some plans this weekend but not much. Saturday I am hoping to see Birds of Prey. Then Sunday mass and also my parents and I are taking my nephew out for his birthday. But Saturday is when I do my bible study that I mentioned before. It studies the readings every Sunday.

But the real reason I am writing this is to tell you Jesus loves you.
No matter if you think you are not worthy. He can make you worthy of his love, just by asking. It’s like at mass right before we have communion. We say Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof; but only say the word, and my soul will be healed.
That makes us worthy of his love and sacrifice.

If you feel you are not worthy, You may be hard on yourself or you did something in the past that makes you think you aren’t. Just go to confession and have it forgiven. You will feel better and your slate will be clean. A smarter person than me said that Gods mercy is like an ocean, all of your sins are one drop of that ocean. It may have been Mother Angelica from EWTN. If you just don’t believe you are worthy don’t worry. I had the same problem up until about 5-6 years ago. My Franciscan fraternity and a priest and brothers at a retreat helped me a lot. Just know you are loved.

Harley Quinn and the Birds of Prey

Hello everyone.
It’s movie time. A new movie is coming out this weekend.
Birds of Prey movie is DC’s new rated R movie.
Hoping to capitalize on the Joker from last year. They are trying to what Deadpool does and mix comedy with action.
I will try and see it this weekend but we are suppose to get some snow.
When I do I will do a full review and also start reviewing new and older games, movies and TV shows.
This weekend if I get snowed in I will play some Call of Duty Modern Warfare and Elders Scrolls Online and maybe more. I will watch some anime and other shows and get reviews going.

This is a short blog article but it’s meant to be a bit of an update.
Have a great weekend.

Elder Scrolls Online Greymoor

The Elder Scrolls Online Greymoor

The Elder Scrolls Online is an mmorpg that has been around since April fourth 2014. And it has gotten much better since.

I have been playing ESO a lot lately. At least 4 times a week for a couple hours during the week or more during weekend.
The game is good but what Zenimax has done in the last few years is great.Their schedule of bringing out content is great. Once a year they do a new chapter. That is something big you need to pay for and more expensive, around 40 dollars or more. Then there are dlc game packs that are cheaper and can be bought in the in game store with crowns.
ESO has no monthly charge, it is free to play except the dlc and chapters. Me I pay $14.99 a month for ESO Plus. That grants me the dlc but not the chapters, except last years chapters come to eso plus.

Every year a new chapter or dlc is announced, this year it was Harrowstorm and Greymoor. Harrowstorm is the dlc and Greymoor is the chapter. This year we are going to Skyrim. Harrow storm will be the start of the new story and have two new dungeons. That starts in march and will be very exciting. Oh and we are just not going to Skyrim in Greymoor we will be dealing with some vampires.
Namely the vampire lord. And the vampire skill set will get a rework and much more story.
Since I have ESO Plus I will get all dlc and more. The more is 1650 crowns to spend in the store, Unlimited crafting material storage, more bank space and 10% xp and gold. It really is worth it just for the crafting storage.

Right now I am getting my necromancer healer leveled up to cap which is 50 then you level with champion points. I am doing tons of dungeons and some quests. Thank god for my guilds. Yep I said guilds you can join up to five. I am in three which play at different times so I always have someone to play with. I play ESO on my XBOX one.
So download it and start playing. Maybe I will be healing you next.

Word on Fire Institute

Hello All.
I want to tell you about something I just signed up for and think it will be a big help. Bishop Barron has been working on a lot of videos and books. You have probably seen some of his videos like Catholicism and Pivotal Players. His books seeds of the world and Letter to a suffering church are well known.

And a year or so he created Word on Fire Digital. That had all his videos both well known and videos for parish’s in one place and online. It was great and I really loved watching the videos.
Now Word on Fire Institute starts. It is a very interesting subscription.
It offers courses about the Catholic faith, right now there are about 10 of them with 2 more on the way. It also has a community area that is a bulletin board. It also gets you Word on Fire Digital which has many videos on it. But the odd thing and maybe one of the coolest is a magazine called Evangelization and Culture, you get in the mail or look at it online. The magazine is interesting. It is a real nice magazine the paper is good quality and what is in it is great. There is a lot of art and the articles are not just about the Catholic faith but also the culture of our world.

If you are a Word on Fire Digital subscriber, I would cancel and get this. It gives you more for not a lot more money. It is an expensive subscription at $27.00 dollars, but it is worth it when you count the price of the videos to buy. Give it a try for a month and you may like it. God Bless and remember God loves you for who you are.
