Hello Everyone.
I have some news for you.
First I will be doing full reviews of games, tv, movies and more.
I am playing a couple games now. I am playing Call of Duty modern warfare and also Elder Scrolls Online among others. I am not done with the single player game yet, because online stuff is so fun. I am playing a lot of ESO. I’m changing my main character to a healer from a daedric sorcerer who summons and does elemental damage.
I am also plan on Ori and the will of the wisps soon.

I wanted to let you know what I will be reviewing video games.
Here are the main categories. Video which will cover graphics and animation. Audio that covers music and speech and sound effects.
Game play will cover controls and and how fun it is and next is Story, Online and lastly Micro transactions which covers that and also dlc and passes. I will rate games on a 1-10 scoring system. 1 is unplayable, 5 meh and 10 game changer. As I said I will review TV, Movies and streaming. That will be a great, meh or bad.
I am hoping to do more Catholic and Franciscan content soon.
But I am thinking what to do about it. It may not happen till this summer when I am done being minister of my Franciscan fraternity.

New Years Eve

Happy New Year
Photo by Sincerely Media on Unsplash

Hello Everyone.
Tonight is new years eve.
I don’t do much anymore since I’m an old fart.
At 51 I’m lucky I can even stay awake. Man me and my buddy used to go to nightclubs and such on new years eve in the 80’s and 90’s.
The older I get the more I really just want to sleep.
I am a morning person and am in bed by 10:00 pm.
But tonight I am hoping to stay awake and greet the new year and then maybe crash and get up early so I can go to 9:00 am mass and I want to be an hour early so I can pray a rosary and liturgy of the hours at 8:00 am. I may make it to midnight. It’s 50/50 chances.
If I don’t I wont be hard on my self because I probably needed the sleep.

Right now I am reading Amy Landino’s Good Morning Good Life.
I am a member of Amy’s #ShineSquad and a supporter. She is really helping me get my mornings better. I plan on getting all my goals out tomorrow and start planning on making them happen.
But that’s for new years day and that’s a day away.

You are worthy of Gods love.

Hello.
my message is short and sweet today.
God is love and he loves you.
He loves you so much that he sent his son to earth to help us know him and love him, and he also taught us to live how he wanted. Jesus is the best teacher. He is the savior and messiah.
Many even me have problems being worthy of Gods love. That was one of my bigger problems spiritually for a very long time. I didn’t figure it out until my 40’s. My Franciscan fraternity and a few priests helped me see that I am worthy of Gods love. God doesn’t just love us when we are perfect or good. He loves us when we fail and screw up and sin also. He is a doting father who is cheering for his kids.

I didn’t believe I was worthy of Gods love because I am broken.
I am broken in several ways. Physically I am 5 feet tall and 125 pounds and have several medical issues. I am broken because I am a sinner and keep screwing up. I am broken because I make grand plans, especially during advent and lent. Then none of them work out or I forget. I am broken because I have brain damage and have a horrible memory. Thank God for confession. But God loves me still even with all my problems. Thank God he gave me people in my life that make me better and keep me going.

He loves you too. Even with all your issues and such, he is always there waiting. Man I made him wait 3-4 decades to take my faith seriously. Even if you don’t believe you are worthy of Gods love. Guess what you don’t need to be. He can make you worthy. He is always waiting, he has all the time of eternity to wait for you.
Just know he loves you and wants you to know him.
My message was to be short but if I think of Gods love I guess I want everyone to know. Merry Christmas.

Christmas is coming.

We are only two weeks away from Christmas. I am excited. I had grand plans to start on Advent. Things didn’t go as I wanted them to. I originally wanted to read a chapter of Luke a day for Advent. I have not done it yet. But maybe I will start tonight and read ten chapters and end strong. I also wanted to be praying more. And I am failing.

But hope is not lost. Advent may be half over but we have two weeks left to get it done. Either today or tomorrow I plan on catching up on my bible reading and I am praying more but just not the way I wanted. I am doing more praying like I am just talking to God in my head and thanking him. But I wanted to do more formal rosary like prayers. Last Saturday I had a bunch of fun learning about the bible, in a bible boot camp my local arch diocese puts on. They used the Jeff Cavins bible timeline method. I learned a lot about what happened from the old testament to the new testament. I want to go deeper and learn more but it will have to wait till after Christmas. I am supposed to be reading Luke now. I will finish strongly this year. I will get what I wanted to do this year done. Oh and get my Christmas shopping done.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare is coming out soon.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare

Hello All.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare is coming out on Friday Oct 25th.
I have been burned by many Cod’s But the last two or three were particularity problems for me.
It started with less maps so they could come in paid dlc map packs. Then they started putting specific weapons in dlc. Eventually they went all out and put all the micro transactions in with loot boxes
They were supposed to be for looks only. But eventually sights and guns and other things became a part of it.
This year they promised that the map packs and loot boxes were not part of the game. I will believe it when i see it. The usual way of doing things is no micro transactions the first few weeks of release so reviewers don’t know and it wont affect reviews.

I played the beta and it was a bit like Tom Clancy siege.
I liked the maps that were available. I was not happy that a horde mode in spec ops was not available on XBOX and PC.
Here’s hoping it will be good.

Franciscan Anniversary.

Hello Everyone.
Today is a very special day for me. It is my ten year anniversary of my profession into the Secular Franciscan Order.
Sadly I won’t be doing anything big to celebrate it.
I am at work and just plan to go home after and spend time with family and my two dogs.

Tomorrow is when I will be celebrating my anniversary.
Going to morning mass but going an hour early to do morning prayer and then a rosary, and be with my brother and sister secular Franciscans. I may be going to planned parenthood and do some prayer. It is forty days of life. I hope to do some adoration and more prayers. If I am lucky I will swing to leaflet missal and get a book or something to celebrate. Just remember God loves you and you are worthy of his love. Even if you don’t think you are. God will make you worthy. If you ever think of joining the Secular Franciscan Order go to this website.

Last Car Show of the Year

Hi All. Last Friday was the last car show of the year in a small town near me. Main street traffic is closed off and only goes one way for street-rods and street machines. It was a fun night. Some of the people didn’t go because there were also Drag races that day. My father and some of his friends were there and having fun. I was walking down main street looking at cars and eating food from my favorite food trucks. My father and I know a guy that makes the best mini doughnuts around. And my favorite restaraunts are an old school pizza place and a old chinese place, both have been around since the 50’s, It’s also the same small town my father grew up in. So all the those place that have been there since the 50’s, he went to when he was young. It’s nice to have one more day when I can see some friends and hang out and watch cool cars and listen to some local bands which play on the sidewalk and just have fun. Ahh well I can’t wait till next summer when it starts all over.

Favorite Car Event

silver bullet dragster

Hello all. I apologize for not having a blog entry for the last week.
I was getting ready and then going to my favorite car event of the year.
The event was part drag race part car show and party. It is called the super secret fun run. It is at the drag strip. We brought two cars one we drove and one we trailered.
My father has a 1955 pontiac wagon, we drove that car up there. We trailered the silver bullet dragster for my dad to drive. It’s not our car but one of my dads friends that let him drive it.

This is a fun event where I can watch my Dad and his friends drag race and in between drag races we just hang out. Then when the racing ends they feed us and we go to our hotel tired.
As I have said it’s my favorite car event of the year. I love drag racing and tried it back in the late 80’s.

The same people tend to come to these events and many of them I have known for 20 plus years. It’s nice to get together and talk.
The bad part is I am an introvert and talking isn’t my thing. But the ones I know and like I will hang out with. I used to have an old car.
A 1964 chevy nova. It was in good shape and was fun to drive.
But I sold it about ten years ago and I don’t have anything now.

It’s still fun to watch my 70 plus year old dad go drag racing and hang out with friends. I hope to keep going into my 70’s if not just to hang out with my car friends and maybe race if I get another old car.

Time to get my stuff together.

Hi Everyone.
Like many of you, I used to have grand plans which went out the window once real life started. At 19 I had it great, I worked at the mail room of the same company my dad and some other family members worked at. I had my grand plan running well. I would spend some a few years in the mail room and move up to a computer job. Anything to work on a computer and not do manual labor. I don’t have a problem with manual labor it’s just my body wasn’t made for it. I was and still am five feet tall and was eighty pounds. Now I weigh around 120 – 125. I used to have to push this huge cart miles a day. We had internal mail routes. I was the warehouse route. I would push a big cart I could barely see above around the warehouse and production areas of the office building. It was an OK job but hard on my body. I would go home sore but I put in a hard day of work.

One of the things I would deliver are these 20-40 pound suite case like things full of paper from one plant to another. Once they hit my plant I would deliver them to shipping and what they used them for I will never know. Another thing I would deliver is copy paper. Those boxes are HEAVY and at eighty pounds and five feet tall I did what ever I could to deliver them. But I used to think, I have a job and a great retirement package. My father retired at 55 years old, with 37 years of service and my plan was to retire at 55 with 35 years of service.
We would get our full retirement package early. After eight years I moved up to a computer job uploading things onto the mainframe.
I was happy and things were doing well. Then at year 22 they laid off almost my whole group. I was on second shift so I could go to school to be a graphic and web designer in another department where I worked.
Well it threw me for a loop and it was nine years ago and I am just recovering now. Now things are going OK, but I need to get my stuff together. I need to go on a budget so I can pay my bills.

My new plan as I have said earlier is to start my own business doing design on the side for extra money. I want to have everything Paid off in five years ten tops. So I can start thinking about retirement. My great pension is no more, luckily I was smart and started my 401k when I was young. So I need to make another plan and stick to it and make sure I can retire when I am sixty five. So I will make a plan and like Dave Ramsey says I will eat beans and rice and live like no one else so when I retire I can live like no one else. Or at least live OK.

Fall is coming.

Hello all.
It’s about time for fall to start where I live in Minnesota.
Usually in September and October. My Family has been members of a local car club and around that time we make a fall leaf rod run.
The car clubs route we go through southeastern Twin Cities and go south from there to Redwing. It is a beautiful drive and once in Redwing we have lunch and drive to the top of a bluff near town and you can look at the whole town from up there. From there we go north through Wisconsin. There are small towns to visit and a couple of my favorites are Stockholm Wisconsin and Haggar City Wisconsin.
Both are fun to visit. There is more to do in Stockholm and the only real reason we visit Haggar City is to go to a Drive in restaurant that has the best chicken around. We do a bit of driving but the mileage isn’t that bad, it still take a good chunk of the day because the view is so lovely. Around Redwing there is a lake that has many eagles and we just sit and watch eagles, lake and the fall colors. Also the people we travel with are a ton of fun also and sometimes we make a mystery run of it. It’s a bit like a find it game and we make many stops to answer questions on the sheet of questions and usually pick a card. At the end of the run we usually eat supper and whoever has the best poker hand gets a small trophy or something. That is my favorite car cruise because it’s fun, pretty and we are always looking for something or doing something. I’m a real introvert but this is usually a lot of fun even for me because many of these people I have known since around high school age. Most are my parents age but many of us kids do it also because it’s what we grew up doing. Much fun is always had by all. You never know until you try.
